From The Red Tape Blog:

"State Rep. Rebekah Warren, D-Ann Arbor, has introduced legislation that
would allow people to vote even if they have different addresses on
their voter registration card and driver’s license — making it easier
for college students to vote where they attend school, rather than in
their hometowns.
In written testimony, Philip T. Shepard of the Michigan Election Reform
Alliance put it his way: “It creates an unnecessary burden on citizens
who reside for long periods away from home, who move frequently, who
depend on family members for driver’s insurance, or who must retain a
certain driver’s license for their employment.”

Now Presenting: "THEIR MESSAGE"

Submitted by Steering.Jim on Sun, 05/06/2007 - 11:17

The Michigan Republican Party has prepared and acknowledged their first YOUTUBE video. While not inclined to help spread their message, I am posting it for all to see just how delusional the Republican party remains.

The video conveniently edits out the "with liberty and justice for all" and shows just how selective in their hearing and message they really are!

It includes more of their partisan negative political attacks while saying they want unity. And as always, they continue to offer no solutions beyond cutting taxes and spend on wars.

Be sure you have some antinausea medicine on hand before you click!:

Personally, I'm just sick off the cut the government's revenue while we spend on war message. Despite being the business people they claim to be... they make no sense in fiscal politics!

Take the Cheney Impeachment Poll!

Submitted by Steering.Jim on Sun, 05/06/2007 - 10:57

Cast your vote and send your message to Congress at the same time!

As courageously drafted by Dennis Kucinich in H.Res. 333 filed just last week, the first and most central ground stated for the impeachment of Vice President Cheney was that he led the charge in fabricating a case for invasion of Iraq, based on phony weapons of mass destruction.  Now almost as if it were timed to coincide with that initiative, former CIA head George Tenet reveals they knew their evidence was flimsy, erroneous and just plain bogus all along, but that Cheney just kept exaggerating the threat anyway.  This is without question the most momentous issue of our time, and whether you agree that Cheney should be impeached, or not, your voice is needed to speak out now, and tell Congress what they should do about it.

You can vote yes.  Or you can vote no.  But we cannot remain silent.

    Friday 04 May 2007

Miami - Florida legislators voted on Thursday to replace touch-screen voting machines installed in 15 counties after the troubled 2000 presidential election here with a system of optical scan voting.

The new system is scheduled to be running in time for the 2008 presidential election.
